Saudi Infrastructure Company Deploys XG20U in Bulk, Setting New Efficiency Records in Desert Construction
In the infrastructure projects supporting Saudi Arabia’s “Vision 2030” NEOM city, leading local contractor Al-Mamlaka recently deployed 15 XG20U desert-enhanced mini excavators, setting a new record for desert operations with an average monthly earthmoving volume exceeding 8,000 cubic meters per machine.
“The desert environment places extremely high demands on the equipment’s cooling system and sealing,” noted Project Director Khalid Al-Sudais. “The XG20U’s three-stage air filtration system and high-temperature resistant hydraulic components performed exceptionally well, showing no performance degradation after 12 hours of continuous operation in daily temperatures of 45℃.”
Developed by XCMG’s Middle East Technology Center for the unique working conditions of the Middle East, the desert optimization kit includes: an automatic protection system for sandstorm warnings, widened tracks adapted to sandy terrain, and a driver environment control system that can connect to a smart water-cooled vest. The equipment’s solar-assisted power system also provides continuous lighting for nighttime operations, enabling true all-weather construction.
