Spanish Agricultural Cooperative Purchases XG25U Excavators in Bulk, Accelerating Smart Agriculture Transformation

In Jaén province, a renowned olive oil producing region, Olivar del Sur, a large local agricultural cooperative, recently introduced 20 XG25U multi-functional mini excavators for full-cycle management operations in its modern olive groves.
“We needed equipment that could maneuver flexibly in mature olive groves with a row spacing of 3.5 meters,” said Miguel Cortés, the cooperative’s technical director. “The XG25U not only meets this requirement, but its integrated smart agriculture interface also allows for data exchange with our existing drip irrigation control system and soil monitoring system.”
This 2.5-ton equipment, specially developed by XGMA’s European R&D center for the Spanish market, is equipped with several innovative technologies: an automatic leveling system for slope operation, a smart navigation module that can memorize different orchard operation paths, and an energy-efficient power system that meets the latest EU emission standards. In practical applications, the equipment has increased the efficiency of routine operations such as pruning, fertilization, and ditch cleaning in olive groves by 60%, and reduced labor costs by approximately 50%.
Even more noteworthy is the “Smart Orchard Management Package” jointly developed by the XGMA technical team and the cooperative. Through sensors mounted on the equipment, it collects soil data in real time, providing technical support for precision agriculture decision-making. This project has received significant attention from the Andalusian regional agricultural department and is expected to become a model case for smart agriculture in Europe.
